Community Board 6 approved the EPA's plans for the Superfund clean up of the Gowanus Canal, but with quite a few stipulations. They don't want any "Nonaqueous Phase Liquid" to seep into the canal (uh, neither do we); they want a commitment that homeowners will not have to pay for bulkhead upkeep; they want disruptions to businesses in the area minimized; and, last but not least, they want businesses to be compensated "for any necessary temporary relocation, business losses and other effects while the work goes on."
