Another One WTC View; New Elmhurst Library Tops Out

New, 7 comments

FINANCIAL DISTRICT?A reader sent along the above vertigo-inducing photo, which was taken from the 103rd floor of One World Trade Center. That puts this view above what we saw from the 100th, 101st, and 102nd floors when we previewed the future observation deck. Other than this floor looking way less secure (mesh netting?! really?!), we can't really tell the difference. When you're that high, everything looks tiny. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]

ELMHURST?A $27.8 million library in Elmhurst, Queens, reached the topping-out milestone this morning as the construction team placed the final steel beam atop the structure. Designed by Marpillero Pollak Architects and built by Stalco Construction, the 30,000-square-foot facility will be the second largest library in Queens and one of the most technologically advanced libraries in the country. WILLIAMSBURG?The Hot Karl behemouth that is 95 Bedford Avenue is nearly complete. A tipster sent along a couple photos of the mega-building, highlighting its facade trifecta of brick, glass, and fake stone. Now that the scaffolding is down, we're anxiously awaiting the listings for the 262 units. We assume they will be rental. Anyone know differently? [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]
