A tipster spotted something intriguing on the website of Midwood Investment & Development, a, yes, real estate investment and development firm. The intriguing thing is a listing for up to 14,903 square feet available at 287 Broadway in Williamsburg, right near the Marcy Avenue J/M/Z stop. But there isn't a building at 287 Broadway?yet. The brochure (Warning: PDF!) contains the above building sketch, and we followed the trail of DOB building ID numbers until we ended up at the relevant permit, filed under 282 South 5th Street. The permit in question was denied in early December, and we're waiting to hear from Midwood about other plans for the site. UPDATE: BuzzBuzzHome hears that the project will be a rental building.
That denied permit called for 13-story, 149-foot-tall building with 82 residential units, 14,843 square feet of commercial space, and a 23,503-square-foot community facility. The architects of record are Goldstein, Hill & West. Further intel welcomed, as always, to the tipline.
