Neighbors of the ever-popular Thompson LES complained to the Department of Buildings a few months back about the tents on the roof of the hotel, claiming they were being used as nightclub space when they shouldn't have been. A DOB inspector agreed, and now so has a judge, fining the hotel $300 and demanding that the tents come down or that the hotel get a permit to keep them up. The lesson: don't mess with the LES Dwellers. [The Local; previously]
