Arianna Huffington Drops $8.15M On A Mercer Street Loft

New, 28 comments

Rather than deal with another landlord (who may or may not wind up suing her for hundreds of thousands of dollars), HuffPo founder Arianna Huffington opted to buy her own place at the end of 2012. The Post reports that the blogging queen signed the contract for a 4,200-square-foot loft at 158 Mercer Street on December 27. According to StreetEasy, it was asking $8.495 million, but Huffington paid $8.15 million (perhaps she got a pre-fiscal cliff deal). With a 50-foot-wide living space and high ceilings, her new abode is ideal for entertaining, and if her guests actually do gouge the walls and ruin the furniture, no one will get mad at her. The place also has a sumptuous master suite with a 30-foot-long fitting room.
