FLATIRON DISTRICT?Madison Square Park welcomed some colorful new artwork this week, courtesy of artist Orly Genger. On view through September 8, the work consists of three wavy walls constructed from 1.4 million-square-feet of nautical rope and dyed with 3,000 gallons of red, yellow, and blue paint. Each of the sculpture form chambers around the park's lawns, and together they weight more than 100,000 pounds. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]

EAST VILLAGE?Tomorrow architecture firm WXY will join local officials and Manhattan community boards to unveil plans for the East River Blueway. We've talked about the proposal before, and now officials want to invite the public to help create a "community-based roadmap to bring amenities and storm mitigation measures to the East River." The fun starts at 6 p.m. at the Cooper Union. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]

GOWANUS?The new rental building at 202 8th Street in Gowanus has leased 60 percent of its 51 units just two months after launching. The project was designed by JDS Development Group and Property Markets Group, and most of the units have outdoor space. There's also a sweet rooftop terrace and private pocket park, all things that sound lovely for this sunny spring weather. Aptsandlofts.com is marketing their units, and a few of all unit types?studios, one-, two-, and three-bedrooms?still remain [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]
