It was precisely just about two years ago that demolition began on the quaint 186-year-old house at 35 Cooper Square. A longtime Curbed obsession, the house was the target of a failed preservation effort and even had its own funeral. In its place is supposed to rise a nine- or 13-story dormitory, but who really knows at this rate, because 731 days later later it's just an empty, graffiti-covered, fenced-in lot. With rats.
