After the PriceChopper failed to get it done at One Hanson Place, the developer put the last six penthouses up for auction in spring 2011. All six received bids at significantly below asking price?unit 26A, for example, sold for $2.55 million (plus a 10 percent bidder's premium) at auction after asking $5.875 million. Now that same apartment, 26A, is back on the market, and the price is edging upward. The unit is now asking $3.6 million, with common charges of $3,307 and a J-51 tax abatement set to expire in 2024. And there's BAM proximity to brag about.
