"The reason a model unit designer would place the bed in the middle of the layout is so that potential buyers don't just stop midway through their tour--they would keep walking into the living room area strategically placed at the end of the unit by the windows. That allows them to experience every last square foot of the unit and have a view of the full apartment from one end to the other. If you placed the bed at the end, they won't keep walking and take in the space all the way to the windows, since the bed blocks it. They'd stop at the middle where the sofa is, and end up feeling like the apartment is much smaller than imagined."?anon [Visiting Three Model Units at Tribeca's 93 Worth Street]
