"East Chelsea" residents continue to advocate for a pocket park at 136 West 20th Street, a lot that has sat vacant for years now awaiting a city-ordained affordable housing development. Now that there are three actual renderings for a small park on the site (see one of them, at right), making the dream of some green space so very close, some advocates are proposing alternative sites for the affordable housing, including a cluster of four violation-ridden city-owned buildings at 22nd and Seventh Avenue, or the slated-for-closure Bayview Correctional Facility.
