Is Tom Cruise in the midst of a great NYC real estate sell-off? The actor exited the American Felt Building in February, selling his low-ceilinged 10th-floor pad for $3 million. Now another property rumored to belong to Cruise, the townhouse at 42 West 12th Street, has hit the market, Real Estalker notes. Cruise (assuming it was Cruise) paid $15.075 million for the house in 2009. The new price is $28 million, and perhaps the 1860 home has been upgraded over the past four years?the new listing mentions a renovation by architect Steven Harris, whose name appears nowhere in the previous listing. A few of the fun features: seven working fireplaces, built-in surround sound, a "Japanese soak tub" and outdoor shower on the roof terrace, and a landscaped patio off the master bedroom. UPDATE: Tom Cruise is not the home's owner. The Post unearths the fact that the house belongs to casino developer Richard Fields.
