What Brooklyn's New Tallest Building Will Look Like

New, 13 comments

The shiny, glassy high-rise going up at 388 Bridge Street, near Fulton Mall, has eclipsed the Brooklyner as the tallest building in the borough. It's thisclose to topping out, and in the meantime we've collected some renderings via SLCE Architects (which is also designing Queens' tallest residential building?some reputation!) that give us a closer look at the facade, the interiors, and the way in which it will utterly dominate the rest of the landscape. Expect 53 stories filled with 378 units: 234 rentals; and 144 condos. In addition, there are at least four large retail spaces at the ground through fourth floor levels, including an outdoor terrace, according to brokerage agent Winick. Sales are expected to start "this spring," a.k.a. any day now. NY YIMBY has some recent construction shots of 388 Bridge, noting that, at 590 feet, it will loom above the low-rises that surround its base. But it might not be alone for long, given that "[a]round the corner from 388 Bridge the Avalon Willoughby West is about to begin rising, and "The Hub"?designed by Dattner Architects?is also in the vicinity; both developments will push the 600-foot mark."
