Brooklyn Bridge Park's plans for expansion of its Main Street section were unveiled at a recent community board meeting. Dumbo NYC shared the PDF presentation and a few renderings that show the design for the area, which is located beneath the Manhattan Bridge at Plymouth and Adams Streets. The presentation helpfully includes photos of the site as they are now (well, as they were in January), so we put them together with the renderings to highlight how the area will change. Above, you can see the park as viewed from the Plymouth Street entrance. It shows the renovated parks building to the right, and the expande green space to the left.
The design plans include a bouldering wall (see those scalies that look like they're falling off that rock? they are actually climbing it), expanded lawn space, new viewpoints, a dog run, and an outdoor nature exhibit. The parks department buildings that currently sits on the site will be renovated to include public restrooms and an "interpretive center" that will host educational programs for kids.
