Brooklyn Heights' Hotel Bossert is returning to its origins, and in 12 months, the 280-room hotel will be bringing new tourists to Montague Street. Retailers along the four-block stretch are already predicting higher rents. Many merchants own the brownstones their shops are located in, and real estate experts predict they'll be able to raise rents by 25 percent or more, so the street may see a high rate of turnover in the years after the hotel opens. Still, some shop owners pine for the old days: "We had a very good relationship with the Jehovah's Witnesses. I miss them." [Brooklyn Eagle; previously]
