After reveals of the name and the tower o' penthouses, we now know the most important pre-sale fact of all about 10 Madison Square West: sales will begin in June. The actual construction at the former International Toy Center Building should be finished sometime next year, and the Times has a fairly extensive look at the plans for the $300 million renovation. A few new details: developer the Witkoff Group demolished 40,000 square feet of the building, and the space will become a private courtyard for the building; the apartments in the 14-unit addition will have larger windows and, in some cases, terraces.
The condos?there will be 125 in total?will start around $1 million for a 1BR and go above $25 million a 5BR penthouse. Last time we checked on the building, the developer wasn't yet sure about the fate of the skybridge over 24th Street that connects 10 Madison Square West to 200 Fifth Avenue. Now, according to the Times, the likely fate of the skybridge is demolition. R.I.P.
