Some black and white renderings of the 18-story, 27-unit condo building planned for the northeast corner of Sixth Avenue and Broome Street have made their way online, and reveal a wedge-shaped building—with a large clock at the top of the facade—towering over its surroundings, as well as four townhouses. Developers Property Markets Group and Madison Equities bought the site (which may have been put up for sale in the first place as retaliation against the car wash employees for unionizing) last June, and had originally tapped Richard DeMarco to be the architect. However, these renderings are credited to Tamarkin Architects PC, indicating, perhaps, that DeMarco is out after his DOB application was denied back in March and that Cary Tamarkin, architecture's fixer, has been brought on to save the day. All will be revealed on Wednesday at a meeting of the Community Board 2 land use committee.
