Residents of Brighton Beach and Coney Island are still pretty upset about the 2010 ruling that banned Borough President Marty Markowitz's Seaside Concert Series from Asser Levy Park, and now they get to watch the park's centerpiece bandshell, which was badly damaged during the hurricane, disintegrate before their very eyes. "Why would they spend a dime fixing it, when they made it so you can't play any music there?" asked one longtime resident, not unreasonably. In related news, Markowitz has just over six months left to make good on his $64 million amphitheater promise. [Brooklyn Paper, photo by Steve Solomonson; previously]
