History Lessons

Writer and Curbed Classics columnist Lisa Santoro grew up near the Lott House, a rundown, reputed-to-be-haunted building in Marine Park. She traces its history for the Wooden House Project, and there's some good news in there for Lott House fans: the property is in the midst of a restoration, and it should be open to the public in spring 2014. The house is an important Brooklyn historical artifact, given that the Lotts were one of the first Dutch families to arrive in New Amsterdam in 1652. [Wooden House Project; previously]
