Supermodel Kylie Bax Sells Self-Designed Duplex For $3M

New, 22 comments

Beyond posing for 20-ish Vogue covers, New Zealand-born supermodel Kylie Bax might also have some real estate savvy up her sleeve. (Well, she rarely wears sleeves?more like skimpy swimsuits?during her day job, but you get the idea.) After Sotheby's couldn't sell her 3,100-square-foot duplex at Tribeca celeb favorite 11 Vestry Street last fall, she relisted with a new broker in December and asked a cool $3.1M. The apartment is made up of two combined units whose renovation Bax oversaw herself (think exposed brick painted silver with wooden columns in the living space, and bright red bathroom accents); it finally sold for $2,980,000, according to the Bouklis Group, which brokered the sale. The open-plan 3BR/2.5BA with an extra 800-foot office/playroom/gym/photography studio/Star Wars collectibles exhibition lair (you know, whatever) on a second level went into contract in February. The deal is expected to close this week. It's a little more than $200K under its original ask, but if you consider than Bax bought the two units for circa $2 million back in 2008, that's a respectable flip right there.
