World's Most Expensive Home Office Finds a Buyer

New, 5 comments

The world's most expensive office, the Philip and Carrie Lehman House, which most recently sported a price tag of just over $3,000 per square foot, is now in contract, The Real Deal reports. The five-story limestone townhouse, which was constructed in 1899 for Lehman Brothers cofounder Philip Lehman, was purchased in 2005 for $13 million by hedge fund manager Zimmer Lucas Captial, which renovated it into a slightly-over-the-top-but-completely-awesome office, also adding a glass penthouse. The house was listed for $65 million last May but had its price chopped to $49.9 million seven months ago. No word yet on who the buyer is, what they're paying, or what they plan on doing with the space.
