The Larstrand, Friedland Properties' 20-story SLCE Architects-designed rental tower that has risen at 227 West 77th Street has announced that leasing is underway and has sent along some renderings of the building's common areas, including the lobby, lounge, playroom, terrace, gym, and cabana. The building contains 143 no-fee market rate units (51 studios, 49 1BRs, 33 2BR/2BAs, and 10 3BR/2BAs) as well as the 39 affordable apartments that it needed to qualify for the 80-20 421a tax abatement. Early reports that the interior of the building would be very fancy appear to be correct—rents are starting at $3,100 for studios and $16,500 for 3BRs. And, oh yeah, there are 24-inch television screens built into the bathroom mirrors, which come with a defogging switch.
