Take a moment to wish our favorite rickety wooden roller coaster a happy 86th birthday. That's right, the Coney Island Cyclone opened its doors (cars?) on June 26, 1927. Since then, it was rehabilitated in the 70s, designated a landmark in the 80s, and made it onto the National Register of Historic Places in the 90s. In the aughts, it survived the demise of Astroland and inspired the name of Brooklyn's minor league baseball team. What'll be next for the embattled amusement?
