Hold, Please

For now, there's one fewer hotel in Dutch Kills' mini hotel boom. Developer Steven Baharestani has withdrawn his application to the Department of Buildings for a 62-room hotel at 39-35 27th Street, a project first applied for in 2007. This is, the developer hopes, just a brief interruption to the hotel's progress. Baharestani, who already had to pause the hotel's development once while he waited to be grandfathered in to the area's rezoning, is seeking new financing not just to continue the project but to expand it. He has already purchased the building next door and ultimately wants to create an 80-room hotel. ['Stoner Queens; previously]
