Shortly after steel magnate Leroy Schecter reduced the price of his combo unit at 15 Central Park West to $85 million?giving up on that $95 million benchmark?he decided to actually take a look at the place. The combo had been in progress for a while, so this was Schecter's first visit, and he "fell in love" and "decided he was going to move in," his broker told the Observer shortly thereafter. But the romance was short-lived, the Observer points out now, or Schecter is at least interested in a trial separation. The place is back on the market as a rental seeking $125,000/month. Maybe A-Rod would like what Schecter has done with the place?
