The newly restored Corbin Building has stolen the show down at the Fulton Center, but it took a lot more than just a facade-scrubbing to bring this beauty back. The lot that it sits on is just 20-feet wide, which meant that mechanical excavators could not be used. Instead, the new foundation pits were dug by hand with picks, shovels, and buckets. They dug so deep that workers unearthed a stone well, which held long-lost items like two stock ledger books from the 1880s, an 1889 newspaper, and a carved clay pipe. [NTY; previously]
