Renovated Astoria House Is Not Ugly, Wants $1.25 Million

New, 21 comments

Astoria may be a pleasant neighborhood with delicious Greek food, but it has a reputation as being, uh, really ugly less-than-aesthetically pleasing. So it was a nice surprise to stumble across this renovated townhouse listing to see that, hey!, not all of Astoria is filled with tacky metal balconies and horrid vinyl siding. It's no historic Brooklyn brownstone, but it looks pretty nice. Located at 19-23 23rd Drive, the house is currently configured as a two units, with an owner's triplex on the lower three floors and a one-bedroom rental on the top floor. It's listed for $1.25 million.

The triplex has three-bedrooms, three full bathrooms, one half bath, a balcony, large private garden, beautiful hardwood floors, and a large open kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. The entry level is configured as an entertaining space with a media room and an extra room that can be an office or home gym. There's a shared rooftop terrace with an outdoor shower, and parking is available behind the house. When you add in the fact that this house is located less than a block from Astoria Park and zoned for the highly rated P.S. 122, the $1.25 million price tag seems pretty reasonable. Any takers?
