Broker Sues 'Baby Jane' Holzer Over $720,000 Commission

New, 3 comments

Andy Warhol muse Jane "Baby Jane" Holzer is best known around here for her having once owned apartments in the Upper East Side's Volney. After she sold those, she went on the hunt for a new place to buy?and once she found one, a broker now claims, Holzer schemed to avoid paying the $720,000 commission on it. The broker, Joanna Cutler, is now suing in Manhattan Supreme Court, according to the Post. Cutler alleges that, after several showings, Holzer and her now-deceased partner, Lance Valdez, entered in contract on a 4BR at 10 East 63rd Street (above) for $16 million. But the seller and buyers then "began to devise a scheme to avoid payment of a brokerage commission" and waited until Cutler's exclusive expired to close the deal.
