Long Island College Hospital in Cobble Hill is not closing (much to the chagrin of real estate developers), but SUNY Downstate Medical Center still wants to rid itself of the 200,000-square-foot complex. At least seven suitors have shown interest in buying the hospital, but SUNY won't say if they are medical or real estate related. Doctors say that SUNY is stripping the place of key workers and supplies, making it "impossible for them to function as a hospital." Lawsuits are being considered. [NYDN; previously]
