The 15-unit condo building at 508 West 24th Street just started construction a couple months ago, and now the first four units have hit the market (h/t BuzzBuzz Home). Developed and designed by Cary Tamarkin, the 10-story building has two units per floor, with a few duplex penthouses, and all but one of the residences are three-bedrooms. In May, Tamarkin told the Times, "These are all family-sized apartments because there is a real need in the marketplace." The cheapest unit currently available is a second floor 3BR/3BA asking $4.15 million, while the most expensive is a $10 million south penthouse with a 600-square-foot terrace.

Homes range in size from 2,000-square-feet to more than 3,300-square-feet, and they have open living/dining rooms and kitchens with 10-foot ceilings, white oak floors, and "continuous ribbons of multi-paned windows." All have private keyed elevator entry, energy efficient heating-cooling systems, and washer/dryers. Kitchens have custom walnut cabinets, Calacatta gold marble slab counters and backsplash, six-burner Viking ranges, built-in pantries, wine coolers, and "built-in water filtration systems." Master baths have the same Calacatta marble for the floors and walls, plus soaking tubs and rain showers. Portugese limestone and subway tile ceramic line the secondary bathrooms. Penthouses kick things up a notch with wood-burning fireplaces, wraparound terraces, and 11- to 12-foot ceilings.

Amenities are pretty standard: doorman, 24-hour super, fitness room, playroom, shared courtyard with a grill, bike storage, laundry room, and a video-intercom system. The building itself was designed to resemble an industrial warehouse, and it's made from Béton brut concrete. The facade facing the the High Line will have a clock, a feature which "originated from the architect's desire for the building to become an active neighborhood participant and give back to the City in a useful and memorable way." That's a pretty heavy task for a clock, so we'll be expecting a time-telling masterpiece.
