And?scene. Former National Arts Club president O. Aldon James has settled the state attorney general's lawsuit against him with an agreement to pay $950,000. (He and his cheap-apartment-holding friends had already agreed to move out of the club by the end of this month and not to take leadership roles at any other New York non-profit.) The club, which is also planning to clean up James' and his friends' apartments and make them available at market rate, will get $900,000 of the settlement money. [NYT; previously and epically]
