Uniqlo Eyes Brooklyn and S.I.; Fairway Hits Chelsea; More!

And now, the latest from Racked NY, shopping and retail from the sidewalks up?

1) Governors Island: To honor Bastille Day, our favorite New York Harbor haunt hosted a Francophone festival complete with vintage Parisian carnival rides. Unsurprisingly, effortlessly attractive New Yorkers went all out for the fanciful occasion in various hues of red, white, and blue.

2) Chelsea: When it opens on July 24, the Fairway at 766 Sixth Avenue will pit itself against neighbors Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Who will boast the best artisanal hummus? And the high-end supermarket wars are a go.

3) Brooklyn & Staten Island: It's storecasting time! Affordable, trendy, and generally beloved Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo will open outposts at Atlantic Terminal and the Staten Island Mall. We knew there weren't enough cheap cashmere sweaters and V-neck tees available there. Especially in Brooklyn. Oh, wait.

4) Pier 25: It's hot already, so just go on and sweat some more at activewear brand Lole's free fitness classes in Hudson River Park. There's a hardcore yoga session tonight and four more events throughout the summer.
