Cornerspotted: The Old Bay Ridge Theater, Now A McDonald's

New, 2 comments

It didn't take long for this week's Cornerspotter to be identified, but that's because we overlooked a key clue: the name of the building carved into the facade near the cornice. The building is the Bay Ridge Theater, which opened in 1915 with 1,919 seats. It ceased operation in 1963, and then the building became a bingo club. Sometime later, it was gutted for retail, and today it hosts a McDonald's, Rite Aid, and New York Sports Club.
