The demolition of graffiti mecca 5 Pointz inches closer to demolition. Queens Borough President Helen Marshall threw her support behind the plan to raze the art-covered warehouse and construct two residential towers after the developers agreed to include 75 units of affordable housing for "city workers, seniors, veterans and residents of northwestern Queens." Previously, developer Jerry Wolkoff planned for 54 units. There will also be an unspecified number of artists studios and some kind of free community space. The plan now heads to City Council.
