'Tis a momentous day for Cornerspotter. No one knew the location of this week's historic photo. A lot of decent guesses?Rockaway, Ditmas Park, Howard Beach, Giffords Lane in Staten Island?but no one even got the borough right. The photo, taken around 1910, shows Kings Avenue on City Island. We couldn't pinpoint the exact address, but a stroll down Kings Avenue on Google Streetview shows that it looks very similar today. The intersection shown in the screenshot above, located at Kings Avenue and Bowne Street, is the closest match we could find to the old photo. Now that the street has been revealed, if you know the exact address, let us know in the comments.
