Quirky, Old Victorian in Clinton Hill Wants $4.5 Million

New, 16 comments

Listed perhaps just a few hours too late to make the list of the ten oldest houses currently for sale in New York City, this "early 1800s" freestanding Victorian house on Cambridge Place in Clinton Hill just hit the market asking $4,495,000. To be fair, not all of it is from the early 1800s; it was expanded later in the century, which is presumably when the street-facing tower came into play, making the house all the more interesting. According to the listing, the house is separated into an owner's triplex and a two-bedroom rental unit, but on the floorplan both kitchens and living rooms are located on the first and second floors, so make of that what you will. In total, there are seven fireplaces, 17 rooms, 8 bedrooms, and 6,500-square-feet. Not too shabby.
