Surreal Estate

Meet Surreal Estate, a crazy/quirky/cool experiment in "intentional community" living in Bushwick. Far from a laissez-faire commune, this group has a lending library of National Geographics, throws massive parties and then donates thousands to charity, and residents are divided into finance, events, housing, or food committees. The idealism didn't always last, as bedbugs, rent-avoiders, and other common NYC problems arose, but it sure sounds fun. [Narratively]
