Residents near Beach 68th Street in Rockaway are speaking out against the modular public restrooms and lifeguard stations the city plans to install on the nearby beach, not because they're ugly (although people do think that), but because they fear they will attract more beach-goers. Oh, the horror. Residents near more heavily trafficked beaches have absolutely no sympathy for the complainers, saying that "every neighborhood should bear the burden" of visitors. [NYDN]
