Up in Washington Heights, a graffiti artist going by the name of Dister has launched a one-man campaign to "de-gentrify" the neighborhood, tagging property in the area with the slogan "I Love My Hood," along with depictions of local life. In this Daily News article, Dister lets loose a barrage of venom against "the yuppies" turning the Heights into their own "playground." Local businesses and politicians are less than impressed, with Councilman Robert Jackson (D-Harlem) saying that "respecting other people's property should not be undermined." Alas, Dister, in his own words, doesn't "give a f**k what they think." Whoa buddy, edgy! [NYDN]
