Neighborhood Beefs

Prospect Heights residents are concerned that MTV is going to shut down their neighborhood when it films the 2013 Video Music Awards on August 25, and the reason that they're concerned is because that is pretty much exactly what MTV says it's going to do. Street closures will start two days prior to the event (after almost a month of prep) and, "The music network has said it wants to use Dean Street as a Brooklyn-flavored backdrop where fans will be filmed reacting as VIPs in limos drive down the block." So, yeah, pretty valid concern there. Have fun with those Video Music Awards, Prospect Heights. Let us know if you manage to touch any VIPs' limos. [DNAinfo]
