It could be tiring to live in a building full of celebrities who don't stay long and chain-smoking heiresses fighting with the co-op board, but the owner of this apartment at the Upper West Side's El Dorado now has a retreat from all that. Design Development recently finished a gut renovation of the 2,400-square-foot space and passed along some before-and-after images.
The idea was to keep the "true art deco beauty" of the original apartment while getting rid of its somewhat run-down look. The ingredients for the makeover included custom moldings and doors with geometric motifs, custom paint colors, bleached floors, and textiles from the homeowners' own textile business.
