After getting a thumbs down from Queens' Community Board 2, developer Jerry Wolkoff is making a big show of "responding to community needs" and has committed to including 54 affordable units in the two rental towers that will replace the soon-to-be demolished 5 Pointz. He will also expand the artist studio space from 2,000 to 12,000 square feet. "I would never have presented a building that I didn't think had community support," Wolkoff told the LIC Post. That must be why he sent his son David to do it. [LIC Post, via Brownstoner Queens; previously]
