The other penthouse at 7 Hubert Street, aka the one that doesn't have a private jogging track around its terrace, hit the market about a year ago asking $17.5 million. The penthouse brought along the broker firepower of Raphael De Niro and some of the most delicious brokerbabble we've seen in recent months. But when the deal closed at the end of June (we spotted it via the CityRealty market report), the final price was a bit lower than the ask?the apartment sold for $15.6 million. Of course, that still works out to a not-too-shabby $3,714/square foot.
Here's our favorite bit of the brokerbabble:
The expansive living room offers plenty of room to spread out. Lounge in the media/study or relax by the bronze clad wood burning fireplace. An open dining room acts as the gallery to the artfully designed Bulthaup chef's kitchen. Stainless steel, aluminum, marble, glass and oak gleam as if beseeching one to run a hand across the surfaces. Tread on Italian Basaltina along custom teak closets, doors and trim, past the artistically created powder room toward the warm wenge floored living quarters where you will find two guestrooms, each with ensuite baths dressed in Dornbracht fixtures and rich gold toned Calcutta, St. Laurent and snow white Thassos marbles. And here's the floorplan:
