Bonkers Roman And Williams Duplex With Pool Asks $16M

Summer in the city makes some New Yorkers want to go jump in the lake?or, more accurately, tell others to do so. But at this massive 6BR/8.5BA duplex at the Aldyn, you could just bellyflop into your own 21st-floor watering hole (a mere 15' by 37'), before enjoying another plunge in your adjacent spa tub, and then a third dip in the building's lap pool. Then there's a 3,600-square-foot terrace with Hudson River and city views where you can air-dry after your dips. Life can be so trying. Asking $15.9 million, the apartment contains work by so-hot-right-now design duo Roman and Williams. (Update: Stephen Alesch of R&W writes in to clarify that while they didn't have a hand in the layout of the rooms or any of the interior decorating, they designed the kitchen, bathrooms, and overall "trim" as well as building's lobby, pool, and gym.) The bottom level has the expansive common areas, including double-height living and dining rooms, plus two bedrooms; upstairs are the master suite and three more bedrooms, as well as a media room/den and a walk-in closet off the hallway that's almost as big. Maintenance is $7,409/month, but hey, there's always that 421a tax abatement.

The Aldyn has some pretty bonkers amenities to match the apartment: a gym; Pilates studio; climbing wall; and squash and basketball courts, just to name a few. The flowery brokerbabble, which ?dare we say ?seems shockingly appropriate for this palatial pad, touts "the ultimate in luxury" in a "loft-like expanse" with a "stunning eat-in kitchen," "finest select finishes," and a "sublime master suite." Actually... sounds about right.
