Yesterday, the Mayor's office gave the Brooklyn Bridge Park John Street condos project to Alloy Development and Monadnock Development and there's already one group that's furious about the decision: the city's trade unions, which will not be used for the construction of the building, just like they aren't being used for the construction of the Pierhouse. Unfortunately for the unions, their chances were slim to begin with—only one of the eleven groups being considered for the project would have employed union workers, according to the Brooklyn Bridge Park Board of Directors.
