Winter on the Water

New, 1 comment

In an effort to ease commuter woes, the city announced today that it is extending weekday ferry service between Lower Manhattan and the Rockaways?including the newly added stop at the Sunset Park waterfront, which provides an alternative to the under-construction R train?through January. There are free transfers between Pier 11 near Wall Street and East 34th Street, and one-way fares will stay at $2 a pop. The mayor's office reports that over 120,000 passenger trips have been logged since the seaborne shuttle's post-Sandy launch last November. [CurbedWire Inbox; photo via Seastreak]
