Then And Now

The internet loves the latest project from street-focused website NYC Grid: before and after mash-ups of city street scenes. Through he's notched a similar compare/contrast effort with photographs from 1961 and 2009, this time blogger Paul Sahner has implanted a nifty toggle that allows readers to see the entire historical shot, or the entire modern-day equivalent in the same spot?and thus quickly assess the evolution over time for themselves. Among others, he highlights Union Square West, 23 Wall Street, and the Manhattan Bridge archway and colonnade (pictured). Head to his site for the full interactive experience.
