High Line Gets New Pair of Buildings by Thomas Juul-Hansen

New, 53 comments

Heading into the fall sales season, developers appear to have chosen this quiet August Thursday as the day to tease and reveal renderings for their upcoming projects. Earlier we discussed One Vandam, Soho's new glass-and-limestonitecture, and above, we have the rendering for 505 West 19th Street, a pair of buildings over the High Line from developer Ziel Feldman and his HFZ Capital Group. (The building was previously known by a hyphenated address.) The teaser website doesn't explain much about the building, but reps passed along a few details. The building has true High Line proximity: one building sits on the park's west side, the other on the east side, and the shared lobby is actually underneath the High Line itself.

Each building will be 10 stories tall, with a total of 35 one-bedroom through four-bedroom units. The designer is none other than Thomas Juul-Hansen, who handled the interiors at One57, among other high-profile buildings. 505 West 19th will, in fact, be Juul-Hansen's first ground-up luxury residential building. He's entering the High Line design fray with a brick and limestone facade and metal and wood windows that fold in and out of the facade.

Sales (helmed by Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group) should start sometime this quarter, with move-ins to begin in early 2015.
