Despite community board opposition, City Planning gave the green light to the mammoth 1.4 million-square-foot mall and entertainment complex proposed for Willets Point, which would cost $3 billion (including 2,500 residential units) and take up 30 hotly contested acres of Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.
