A team of architecture students from the University of Oregon won the "Timber in the City: Urban Habitats" design competition to build a mixed use, all-wood complex on the Red Hook waterfront. The team's design—"Grow Your Own City"—features affordable housing, a bike share, a restaurant, and an urban park, and although the design will not be implemented, the team received around $30,000 for their plan.
