The Coignet Building In Film; 13 New Views Of 250 Bowery

New, 5 comments

GOWANUS?Alongside the contentious construction saga that is the Gowanus Whole Foods rests the story of the little landmark that could: the Coignet Building. One of its main chroniclers? Max Kutner, the director of At the Corner of 3rd and 3rd, whose film aims to document how the old stone company building managed to survive demolition and the role it plays in the neighborhood today. You could watch the trailer; but even better, see the whole thing tonight at the NewFilmmakers New York series, or September 19-22 at the Greenpoint Film Festival, where it will screen as Best Documentary Short. LONG ISLAND CITY?All 142 units of rental building 27 on 27th, one of several new developments in Court Square, have found tenants. Leasing for the studios, one-, and two-bedroom apartments started this past February, and when we toured the building in April, 104 units were already spoken for. Rents have ranged from $1,851/month for a studio (when the building first launched) to $4,704/month for a 1BR (listed now). [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]

LOWER EAST SIDE/NOLITA?Because 250 Bowery has been featured so prominently as a covetable residence on Million Dollar Listing New York, we've heard a lot about the interiors. But the Adjmi & Andreoli-designed exterior was recently professionally photographed, and reps sent over some pretty images of the striking facade, which you can peruse in the gallery above. While we're on the subject, a sales check: of all 20 units, there are three units in contract, ranging from $925,000 to $5,750,000; while on the rental side there are 2 1BRs and 2 2BRs, listed from $4,800/month to $11,000/month.
